Fixer Upper is Ending and We are Falling Apart
I'm not usually one to get emotional. However, there is an impending television death that is impossible not to mourn. The upcoming season of HGTV's hit show Fixer Upper will be it's last. I really don't know how to feel, and neither does the rest of the Internet.
Chip and Joanna Gaines, affectionately known as "mom and dad" by their fanbase (or maybe only by me) posted a video on their Magnolia Market website this morning announcing the news. They stated in the video that it is "bittersweet to say goodbye" but that they've "felt like season 5 was going to be [their] final for this chapter". The couple plans to put more attention towards their family and their other businesses, like their market and their bakery.
As expected, the Internet reacted with panic, tears, and lots of gifs:

It's hard to be mad at them, but what am I supposed to watch while I do my laundry on Sunday mornings?? What are all the stay-at-home moms going to binge-watch all day?? How else will I know the latest trends in farmhouse-chic interior decor??not to be dramatic, but Fixer Upper is ending and so is my will to live— corinne crawford (@corinnelizzy) September 26, 2017

All we can do now is get enough tips and memories from season 5 to last a lifetime. Thanks to the past four seasons, we know the importance of an open concept, barn doors, a farm sink, repurposed shutters, and, of course, shiplap. Thank you Chip and Joanna. You will be severely missed. And don't think for a second that just because there will not be any new episodes after this season- airing this November- that I will not still browse their website for rustic home fantasy ideas at least once a month.Finding out it's the last season of Fixer Upper #chipandjojono pic.twitter.com/TeHRuqY6Po— Bianca G.
